Andrew de Vries
Andrew grew up in a Christian family and the Lord used this to open his eyes to see the glories of Jesus Christ and his desperate need for a Saviour. He can’t remember a time when he did not trust in Christ, but this trust deepened significantly in his late teens through the influence of a local minister. He grew up in Australia, and after training for the ministry the Lord brought Him to Christchurch.
Andrew is married to his best friend, Christina, and they have been blessed with four children: Josie, Miriam, Jeremy and Hannah. Andrew and Christina love spending time with the family: board games, movies, beach days, and backyard soccer are popular hits. Andrew enjoys cricket, reading and listening to music.
Andrew has been ministering in the Bishopdale Reformed Church since 2009, and counts it a privilege to serve the Lord in this way. He counts it a joy to point people to Jesus Christ and the abundant life that is found in Him.
After spending a number of years as a clock and watchmaker, Reinier trained for ministry at the Reformed Theological College, in Geelong, Victoria. He has served as a pastor in Melbourne, Victoria, then in Hamilton, NZ, and more recently in Perth, Western Australia. He began serving in Bishopdale Reformed Church late 2019.
Reinier is married to Trudy, and they have four adult children, and one grandchild.
Reinier has felt a call to ministry for most of his life, and is deeply humbled that God would choose to use him in this way. His greatest delight is seeing people come to and grow in their faith.
